Foulquier: "The most important thing today was our attitude"
Dimitri Foulquier was one of the best players in Valencia CF's Copa del Rey Round of 16 win over Sporting Gijon. After getting through to the next round, the fullback spoke to VCF Media and highlighted the team's attitude and efficiency in front of goal.
A solid match
Not conceding goals is good. We had a very serious game and scored four goals, which doesn't happen often. As I've said, the important thing is attitude: If you have the right attitude and intensity, then you've got more chances of winning. That's what we did today.
Mentality
In the end, that's what it's about. You can play short passes or long balls, but the most important thing is always your attitude. When you have that, you can win many games.
Four goals and a clean sheet
You have to be effective in both areas. That is always important.
Step by step
We have shown that we go for games. Now we are thinking about the next one. It's all about competing, competing and competing.
Unconditional support from the fans
I am no longer surprised by the fans. I have seen them in every stadium in Spain. We know what Valencianistas are like and they always cheer us on.
The next game against UD Almeria
It will be a very difficult match. It's about having the mentality, competing and being effective.
